St Joseph, MO – February 5, 2018 – The News-Press & Gazette Company announced today it has sold Online Tech, LLC to Schurz Communications Inc. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Online Tech currently serves nearly 500 clients across the country. Its network of seven data centers includes sites in Indiana, Michigan and Missouri with clients in Kansas City and St Joseph.
“We are proud of the terrific team at Online Tech and the excellent work they have done. We are confident the company will continue to be a leader in the industry and thrive while working with the Schurz,” said David Bradley, CEO of NPG.
During NPG’s ownership, Online Tech experienced double-digit growth. NPG provided the growth capital and a selection of back office support services for Online Tech to expand into new locations and additional product offerings.
NPG is owned and run by the Bradley Family. It purchased Online Tech in 2012 as part of its continuing diversification strategy. The NPG portfolio includes broadcast, print and digital media holdings in eight states and ten cities. The family also created the BERKS Group, which is actively seeking new opportunities to expand both inside and outside the media business.
“Our mission is to invest in and support growth businesses with patient capital,” said NPG President Brian Bradley. “We are focused on investing in education technology, technology infrastructure and strong Midwestern companies in more traditional ‘smokestack’ industries.”
NPG’s recent investments include Labor Source LLC., a Kansas City based restoration staffing business operating across the country. NPG also invested in Tulsa, OK based APSCO LLC., a manufacturer of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment for heavy-duty trucks.
